JACK ANDREW ROBINSON Our beloved Jack passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, in a Reno, Nevada hospital from sudden heart complications. At only 34, his death was all the more tragic as he was engaged to marry and begin a new chapter in his life. Jack first delighted our eyes when he was born in Salt Lake City on February 27, 1987, the precious son of Cortney Jack and Cindy Jo Pass Robinson. Growing up in Draper, he was the youngest of three brothers but a couple of years older than their sister. His love and admiration of his siblings was unwavering, even when he was told to walk his sister to and from school! Jack’s middle name should have been Loyalty because it was the salt of his character. Like most young boys Jack played little league baseball and football with his brothers, and it didn’t hurt that the coach was their Dad. Jack may have been smaller than most his age, but he could run like the wind and dart about like a hummingbird. We could also find him at the local skate park where he developed an admirable ability on a skateboard. When the snow covered the hills, we could most assuredly find him on the slopes snowboarding where no one else would go. His love for snowboarding and skateboarding led him to his first job – behind the sales counter selling sports equipment and attire at BC Surf and Sport where he won the hearts and minds of everyone who came through the door. That job kept him out of trouble while he attended and graduated from Alta High School in 2005. All kids live their young lives in the great outdoors, but Jack embraced it like no other. Year after year, he routinely hiked Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon and spent many hours and sometimes days in the solitude of the Uinta mountains. His love of Nature inspired him to major in Conservation and Restoration Ecology at Utah State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2012. Our family had a good laugh when one class put him in the Salt Lake desert counting sagebrush bushes for weeks on end! But Jack loved all of it! He became enthralled with the novels of Edward Abbey and inspired by the poetry of Wendell Berry. Shortly after graduation, he landed a job at Nelson Labs, a leading global provider of over 400 microbiological and analytical tests. He steadily achieved success there, holding the title of Department Training Specialist at the time of his death. But it was not all work! It was there that he met the love of his life, Brissa Aguilar. Last December, he knelt before her and asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes, of course, and on went the ring! They were to be married next summer. Jack was the kindest, most gentle creature on this planet. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be missed. May our memory of him carry each of us to our own graves. In addition to his parents and fiancée, Jack is survived by his brother Adam, his wife Rachael, and their children Cole, Hannah, Victoria and Aven of Silverton, Oregon; by his brother Sean and his wife Ashly of Portland, Oregon; by his sister Aubrey Jo, her husband Zach Little, and their son Calvin of Salt Lake; by his uncle Scott and aunt Jane of Templeton, California; by his uncle Ike of LaGrange, Georgia; by his aunt Margo Laub of Salt Lake; and by countless cousins and, of course, cherished friends. A celebration of life will be held in Brighton’s Milly Chalet (8183 S Brighton Loop Rd, Brighton UT 84121) on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 3:00pm as an open house. Our family requests that only those who have been fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus attend; this event must not lead to another senseless death. Finally, with Jacks love of birds and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Tracy Aviary in Jacks name. Donation Site: https://6059.blackbaudhosting.com/6059/Gifts--Donations
